Sq’éwlets has recently adopted a Land Code, which serves as a mechanism that provides greater control over its lands, enabling it to function similarly to a municipality. The Land Code facilitates the creation of procedures and policies designed to enhance both residential and commercial development. Additionally, it safeguards sensitive land areas from development activities.
